There is no question, we are in love with love! We want to be loved and we want to give love. But what is the TRUE definition of love? Kari, a five-year-old said that, "Love is when a girl puts on perfume and a boy put on shaving cologne and they go around and smell each other!" Not exactly!
The difference between Hallmark Love [Valentine's Day] and God's love is one is an emotion and one is an action. The world defines love as how we feel. God however, defines love my what we do. That is why Jesus commanded us to "love one another" and to "love our enemies." You cannot command yourself to "feel" a certain way toward another person but you can show love by your action.
'For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,..." Space does not allow me to follow this wonderful truth to its ultimate conclusion but remember you don't have to feel a certain way to show God's love.
